Current Project: Automatic RIgging Tool for Maya (due to finish in November)
This tool prompts the user in Maya to gather ticket information for a Shotgun project, and then uses the Shotgun API to upload it to the website.
These functions take the locations of assembly objects and write them out to an xml file. In lighting, after the animation cache and the assembly cache are brought into the scene, the apply_asm_publish_data() fucntion is called to move the assembly cache to the recorded locations from animation. This saves time for animation publishing. Because we only need to cache the assembly once, the animators are able to cache their shots without having to worry about wasting time on caching assemblies in certain locations.
This is an example of a published assembly location data xml file.
